Mr. Untersee graduated high school in Natick, MA where he was active in the school performing arts playing tuba, trombone, singing in choirs and acting in musicals.  He went on to study tuba and voice at the University of Massachusetts receiving a degree in Music Education.  After a three year teaching stint at Profile High School, Mr. Untersee pursued further study at Temple University earning a Master of Music with a focus in music education research.  He then moved to Madison, Wisconsin teaching band and orchestra before settling back to New Hampshire where he taught at Plymouth Regional High School, Plymouth State University and beginning in 2003, Lin-Wood Public School.

 

Throughout his career Mr. Untersee has enjoyed teaching music in many different settings, from 8 month old children in an academic research environment, school bands, orchestras and choirs to college students studying to become music educators.  He is also an active freelance sound engineer providing live sound production for various venues, festivals and schools throughout NH and VT.
